Allen & Goff | NFL Jerseys Blog

Hello and welcome to the very first edition of our brand new blog, where we highlight the hottest bets that Canadians are targeting, week in week out in the world of sports. We’ll take a look at the biggest games from across different leagues and what some of the key trends are that we see Canadians betting on. Whether it’s the Raptors covering the spread, or the likelihood of McDavid finding the back of the net, or if Josh Allen will find the endzone, ubet.io has your leading odds and analysis on big ticket matchups.

And of course, keeping it unapologetically Canadian.

So let’s get right to it. We couldn’t have picked a better week to start as we have one of the most anticipated games of the NFL season to highlight and two Canadian NHL franchises going at it Saturday night. Here’s what we have circled in our calendars and the hottest tickets this side of the border.

Sunday, December 15th: Buffalo Bills vs Detroit Lions

Preview: This has to be the biggest showdown of the NFL season, as many are predicting both the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions to make the Super Bowl. In Southern Ontario, many football fans find themselves choosing to join the pride or the infamous Bills Mafia. While Buffalo does have the edge when it comes to fans, the incredible play from the Lions have stolen the hearts of football fans across the nation.

No matter where your allegiance aligns, this game will be watched by all as this will give us a potential Super Bowl preview as the 10-3 Bills head into Motor City to take on the 12-1 Lions.

Pick #1: Over 54.5 (-111)

It’s not surprising that we’re already seeing movement on the over as we’ve seen this climb already from 53.5, with the majority of money on the over. The Bills defence gave up 44 points to the LA Rams last week, while the Lions are decimated with injuries to their defence.

Even though the Bills only allow 20.6 points per game and the Lions allow 18, this is trending to being a high-scoring game. With Josh Allen’s MVP case getting stronger with his historic offensive performances and Detroit challenging Buffalo on defence with their two-headed monsters at running back, look for plenty of offence and the over to hit. There shouldn’t be any reason why Josh Allen won’t find the endzone while Montgomery and Gibbs getting theirs. Get in on it now before this number climbs anymore than it has.

Pick #2: Detroit Lions Moneyline (-147)

It’s a real pick 'em’ on Sunday, but we’re going to roll with the home team that has boasted a record of 6-1 at Ford Field. Breaking down the Bills record, they’re undefeated at home sitting at 6-0 in front of the mafia. However, they’re only 4-3 on the road with losses to the Ravens, Texans and Rams.

Even though the Lions are very banged up on defence, they’re still going to adjust and challenge the Bills run game. Josh Allen will have to be very aware of the Lions changing schemes last minute and attacking their rush and their aggressive defensive backs like Brian Branch, who is an absolute ballhawk, should he be healthy to play. Look for the Lions to control the pace of play and manage the clock down the stretch.

HOT BET:  Jared Goff + Josh Allen Over 250 Passing Yards (+250)

Here at ubet.io we like to dish out ‘Hot Bets’ that highlight dynamic offences. And that’s what both of these quarterbacks will give you on Sunday. Despite both Goff and Allen going up against good defenses, both of them have gone over 250 passing yards in three of their last four games. Look for them to air it out to their favourite receivers as both Amari Cooper and Amon-Ra St. Brown shouldn’t see any less than 5 targets each.

Saturday, December 14th: Montreal Canadiens vs Winnipeg Jets

Preview: A good old fashioned Canadian clash going down Saturday night as the Habs head up to Winnipeg to take on the Jets who have the third best record in the NHL. The Jets have arguably the best goaltender in the league in Connor Hellebuyck (17-5-0) who will be expected between the pipes on Saturday while the Canadiens will likely call upon Sam Montembeault (9-11-2). Hellebuyck’s save percentage is .925, good for second in the league, whereas Montembeault hosts a percentage of .906. These percentages tell the story as to why we’re leaning towards the under.

The Pick: Under 6.5 (-129)

Both Montembeault and Hellebuyck have had 22 starts this season. Out of each of these 22 starts, the under has hit 14 times. The Jets rank in the top 5 in offence while the Candiens are a bottom 5 offence in the league. Both goalies have 3 shutouts a piece this season, so it would be worth taking a look at their save total over/under on gameday. This has the makings of being low scoring, so we may see this line move down to 5.5, so if ubet.io opens up with 6.5, jump on it as soon as you can.
